TIPS FOR SMOOTH WEDDING DAY PHOTOS
As you're approaching your wedding day, there will be a lot of pressure and you'll worry about how things will work out. One of the main pressures while leading up to the big day is wedding photography, as photos are the biggest keepsake after the wedding. There are so many ways to ensure you get the best results while still being able to enjoy your day with you partner, friends and family. Below are tips for smooth wedding photos!!!!
Make a shot list/send all poses you want
What are the things you don't want your photographer to miss? Bridesmaids getting ready? Mom helping the bride in her dress? Brides details? Although, photographers will have a list of essentials to capture throughout the day, each couple is different and there maybe be other important things they want to have captured. Also!! For family/friend photos, I find it essential to have a list done and emailed prior to the wedding. This ensures no one will be missed during the group photos!
Note important moments to be captured
There will definitely be important moments that your photographer will need to know. Give them notes!!! You want to have your dads reaction seeing you the first time? Or to be ready to capture images while you are around your great aunt who can't stand for too long. Let them know all vour important moments!!
Send finalized timeline
Send your finalized wedding day timeline to your photographer prior to the wedding so it can be printed off to be looked back on during the day! This is crucial, it's so good to know what's next and what vour photographer will be photographing, and how to have the camera settings etc!!!
Have help with group shots
Usually family/group shots are done right after the ceremony or before if you are having a first look! Even with a list, your photographer can't know all your family/friends names, especially if there are a lot of you! Before the wedding, ask a friends or family member who knows everyone to help organize the group shots. This will make things go a lot smoother and save time!
Have all details in once place
I'm sure I've wrote about this before, but if you're wanting to capture all the important getting ready details. Make sure to have them all in one place, where's its clean and clutter free! This will save time and allow us to get more photos of everything else during the getting ready time!
SMILE A LOT
As a new bride & groom, it's natural to feel nervous on your wedding day, so just remember to smile!! Even during all the chaos, look at your partner and just remember it's your wedding day!".
Show of your love!!
My best piece of advice is to focus on your partner, look into their eyes, laugh, dance, hug each other, keep each other comfortable, and keep moving together! Getting closer to one another will ensure the photos have the natural looking intimacy!
Forget the camera!
Once your day starts, forget the camera is around. Act natural, be natural. The best photos are the ones not planned! Don't think too much about how you look on camera, the photographer will take many clicks and you will receive the best ones!
Trust your photog & have fun!
Finally!!! Trust your photographer, after searching for a photographer, you would have looked over their style, approach, editing style, etc. you've trusted their skills and ability thus far! Loosen up and let them do their thing! If they ask you to do something silly, trust me it's going to turn out beautifully!!!
And!!! Lastly - have fun! It's your wedding day!
